From a struggling student to an Arabic educator
This is the story behind Zero2Arabic.
Zero2Arabic was born from the personal journey of Najib Ayoubi, an Australian-Lebanese who, like many others, faced the daunting task of learning Arabic as a non-native speaker in an English-speaking environment. He would sit with his Arabic-speaking relatives and not understand a single word they said. Completely distant.
He knew he had to start from scratch. So he began to join physical classes here and there but commitment was always an issue. He tried going through some learning resources but found himself even more confused.
Shortly after, Najib travelled to Malaysia and met an Albanian teacher who also learnt Arabic from zero. He taught him the Madinah Arabic series and suddenly, the Arabic language finally started to make sense to him. Najib realized that beginners need a different approach. An approach that comes from a teacher who went through the same journey they did.
Eventually, Najib went on to study Islamic jurisprudence in Arabic at Al-Madinah International University.
This entire experience lit a fire. There had to be a better, clearer, and more empowering way to reach out to the world and allows for absolute beginners to learn Arabic, especially in a video-focused world where classroom commitment is dying and 3-second scrolls rule - so he built what he wished he had when he started: Zero2Arabic.
